Who is Swarnim Wagle- Age Introduction- SLC School Education Background
Swarnim Wagle, born in B.S. 2031 in Gorkha, Gandaki Province, is an international development economist. Active within and outside Nepal for the past 25 years, Dr. Wagle was the chief economic advisor for the Asia-Pacific region covering 36 countries at the headquarters of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York from 2077 to 2079.
Prior to that, Wagle, who was the vice-chairman and member of the National Planning Commission for three years, played a special role in assessing the damage for reconstruction after the 2072 earthquake and gathering significant international support. Wagle, who was a senior economist at the World Bank and UNDP before returning to Nepal, is currently a member of the Senate of Kathmandu University and the president of the Center for All-round Development Studies (IIDS).
Swarnim Waglé is Chair of the Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS), a South Asian policy think-tank established in Kathmandu in 1979. He is the former Chief Economic Advisor at the UNDP Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific (RBAP) in New York covering 36 countries. Between 2014 and 2018, Dr. Waglé served the National Planning Commission (NPC) in the Government of Nepal for three intermittent years, first as Member and then as Vice-Chair.
Generally, first-class SLC passers were preferred, Faculty of Science. Getting a scholarship after the proficiency certificate level and going to a prestigious university in the country was like a regular routine for a student studying there. Wagle chose the Faculty of Humanities.
He served as Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission from 2074-04-22 (August 2017) to February 2018, and as a member of the National Planning Commission of Nepal for two terms (September 2016, 201 to August 2017 and May 2014 to November 2015).
